Privacy Policy

Any information held by Steetley Minerals will not be shared with any other company or individual without obtaining prior consent from yourself. As credit cards are processed by Paypal’s secure site, we do not hold any financial details about yourselves.

We use the data you supply us with in order to process orders at your request, and we only collect data that is necessary to do this. Where consent is obtained lawfully and wilfully, we also capture your data to share with you information about our products or services. You can opt out of this at any time by contacting us via email. You may also contact us by email to request information about the data we hold on you (for example, what data we hold, or how do we control it), and take further steps to control our processing or deletion of this data

Ordering Specimens

The procedure to order specimens is as follows.  Click the green ‘add to cart’ button for any specimen you wish to buy and the site will take you through the ordering procure. Online payment can be made by Pay pals either through your Pay pals account or using their secure Visa or Mastercard credit card system. There is an option for customers to pay by cheque in Sterling. If you wish to reserve a specimen or have any questions please email us. Specimens will be held for seven days awaiting confirmation. If you are ordering a number of specimens then contact us and we will confirm if a discount on the delivery charge can be made.

Shipping the order

We shall normally ship within 5 days except in unusual situations such as when we are traveling or attending shows.

All goods unless specified otherwise are sent by Royal Mail first class/air mail.  For latest shipping rates please refer to the ‘Carriage details’ page. Parcel tracking is normally not included in the delivery costs shown but can be offered for an additional cost.  For details please email  peter@steetleyminerals.co.uk before ordering.

Priority

All items are sold on a first come – first served basis. If there is a conflict between customers on one item, the person from whom we first received the order will receive the item.

Photographs
Whilst we endeavour to make the specimen photographs as realistic as possible, please be aware that colours are sometimes difficult to accurately reproduce and possibly can change over time.  The colour of some species appears different in artificial light compared to daylight. Please also note that the photographs are not to scale.

Customs/Duty Fees
It is the customer's responsibility to pay all associated custom charges, duty fees and sales taxes, for items purchased and posted/shipped outside of the UK.

Health considerations

Minerals should be handled carefully as they may be harmful. Always wash your hands after handling minerals and never inhale or ingest mineral dust.

Returns

We appreciate that sometimes it is not easy assessing a specimen from a photograph however accurate the photograph may be. Therefore if within 10 days from receipt you decide the specimen(s) are not for you, and you wish to return them, we will refund your money less postage and insurance where appropriate, so long as the specimen(s) are returned and in the condition they were sent, i.e. undamaged, not been trimmed etc.

Damaged items

If the specimen has been damaged in transit, please contact us immediately and we will discuss either a full refund or a discount if the damage is slight. Some evidence of the damage would be appreciated preferably a digital photograph.

Mailing List

We offer a mailing list to subscribers, advising when new specimens have been added and any other news on minerals, finds or events. If you wish to join please click on the subscribe button. At any time you can stop future lists being sent by clicking the unsubscribe button.
