A 'Floater' specimen with no apparant point of contact.  The shape is formed from numerous parallel faces and pyramidial crystal terminations. Alternating bands of amethyst and pale smokey colours can be seen in the specimen depending on the play of light. Some residual creamy yellow secondary mineral occurs in places on the quartz. Unusual
