Cambokeels Mine, Eastgate, Weardale, Co. Durham. England

Display specimen from Cambokeels mine which has been flooded since it closure in 1989. Glassy un-twinned crystals with unusual colour zoning, the outer edges and small areas inside the crystals being purple, the remaing areas showing a translucent clear to grey colour. Across the middle of the specimen is a band of quartz, mostly crystalline with crystals up to 8mm
