Taffs Well Quarry, Pentyrch, Cardiff, Wales

Taffs Well is known for its calcite specimens but it did turn up the occasional fine quartz too. This rich specimen is nearly 100% quartz with lustrous crystals to about 5mm showing a little included goethite and a late dusting of calcite. Collected in the 1980s.
