Mexico mine, Roughton Gill, Caldbeck Fells, Cumbria, England
2585
Dry Gill is famous for its unusual red 'campylite' a variety of mimetite with curved faces. A1980's dig in the Mexico mine area of Roughten Ghyll suprisingly turned up a similar type of mimitite with red barrel shaped crystals. This is a fine example from the find. Ex. Chris Jewson collection
