Unknown Location on Alston Moor, Cumbria, England
2252
Interesting 'Old-time' Victorian specimen. Occasionally these lilac and yellow coloured fluorite specimens turn up for sale with just 'Alston Moor' as a locality and whilst there have been a lot of guesses, to my knowledge, no one has ever found evidence placing them as being from a particular mine. They are attractive specimens in their own right and as with this one often have a sprinkling of chalcopyrite crystals on the fluorite. Ex. Roland Thomas collection.
