Crystallised aragonite is quite rare in Weardale but occurred sparingly at Broadwood quarry when it was being worked in the first few years of this century. This pretty miniature has stubby transparent aragonite crystals of an attractive straw colour formed over quartz crystals which extend onto the rear of the specimen
