2nd Sovietsky Mine, Dalnegorsk, Primorsky Krai, Russia

Fine example of galena and pyrrhotite from this classic locality. The galena crystals show complex twinned form with some skeletal growth caused by fine growth spirals, giving a 'molten' look. Additionally and contrasting nicely with the galena is a large, bright striated pyrrhotite crystal 30mm across partially coated on the back with a carbonate group mineral.
