Heights Quarry, Eastgate, Weardale, Co. Durham, England

Fine display specimen of Heights fluorite. The colour is unusual, best described as a pale lilac/purple with some zoning, the central areas of the crystal faces showing a degree of frosting. Interespersed between the fluorite crystals are small calcite crystals and in some places weathered dark siderite. Ex Ray Richardson collection with a sawn base. photographs are taken in daylight.
