Kabwe Mine, Kabwe, Central Province, Zambia

Hopeite and Parahopeite are rare hydrated zinc phosphates, the best specimens coming from Kawbe mine in Zambia previously known as Broken Hill mine. The Hopeite on this specimen forms stubby brown crystals partially coated with smaller Parahopeite crystals. Kabwe mine is the type locality for parahopeite.
