Huansala Mine, Huanuco, Huallanca, Peru
1564
Exceptionally lustrous pyrite crystals made this a very difficult subject to photograph. The specimen is a mass of Interlocking pyrite octahedrons of various sizes up to 24mm with a part dusting of contrasting matt black sphalerite crystals. A Peruvian dealer was selling this and similar specimens at St. Marie-aux-mines show 2019 and I couldn't resist!
