Aragonite is quite rare in Weardale and few specimens of any specie are known from Broadwood quarry which was worked in the first few years of this century. This pretty miniature has stubby transparent aragonite crystals of an attractive straw colour radiating from a thin slice of matrix. Ex. P. Briscoe collection.
