Old Towns Quarry, Middridge, Newton Aycliffe. Co. Durham, England

Excellent example of unusual reticulated fluorite. Cavity in dolomitic limestone show sharp elongated fluorite crystals most in parallel alignment. As far as I know Old Town quarry is the only location in Britain where this form of fluorite occurs. A little calcite and pyrite accompanies the fluorite.
